The Fairchild 22 has been long recognized as one of the most beautiful of the aircraft
built during the Golden Age of Aviation. The sleek lines resulted from the
blending of the Menasco engine to the tandem seat fuselage. The 22 quickly
gained favor among the sportsman pilots of the thirties, being easy to fly,
light on the controls and also aerobatic.
Our Fairchild 22 kit is basic 3/8" balsa sturdy frame construction. Wings and
tail surfaces are built up. the wings plug in and airfoil shaped struts help hold
the plane together. The cowling and pants are fiberglass. The cabane struts and
landing gear are pre-bent. This replica is fun to build and even more fun to fly!
